The East window was designed in 1903 by Caroline Townshend. She was a British stained glass artist of the Arts and Crafts Movement. The window shows Christ as Saviour of the World, flanked by St Nicholas and Mary Magdalene.
St Nicholas was the Bishop of Myra, Asia Minor, during the 4th century and is the patron saint of sailors and of children. He is also widely revered as the original Santa Claus. He gave all his inherited wealth to help those who were poor, sick or suffering - a giver of gifts.
This final detail of the right hand light of the window shows St John, one of the twelve Apostles of Christ.
