St Nicholas’ Heritage Weekend was a great success in spite of the rainy weather on Saturday. The bell ringing was a pleasure to listen to and Sunday’s sunshine provided the backdrop for a lovely ‘Songs of Praise‘ service. The children’s choir sang at the service and their cleverly reworded song before the teddy bears’ parachute jump was very special.

This set the scene for the tower tours, the moat tours and the ‘Hoop Guy’ who transfixed the children (and adults) and encouraged many to have a go.The Svartland Vikings were interesting and educational and the Chinewrde Morris Dancers really impressed with their joyous dancing, colourful dress and clogs. The wonderful all-round entertainment and craft and food stalls provided enjoyment for everyone present.
