The two ‘Explore the Churchyard’ afternoons on 17 and 27 August have been a great success. Old gravestones not seen for many years were uncovered.

The oldest grave found so far is almost 350 years old and dates from 1679. We are really excited to think that we might find even older graves and learn more about the families who have lived in our parish over the centuries. Visitors followed the new Heritage Trail in the church and met our mascot, Charlie, the church mouse, and his family for the first time. Children of all ages had great fun making lovely boxes as homes for our birds and bats. Many thanks to the volunteers and all the lovely people who helped make these such fun events.
