Some dedicated craftsmen gave our north aisle windows a much needed clean and uncovered a signature and date etched into the glass. The date is clear - 1848 - but the signature is more difficult to decipher. Research is now being undertaken to try to identify the exact name and to find out where the person lived. They are not thought to be from Willoughby as there is no record of a similar name in the censuses of the time.
